Overview:
The Public Relations Officer is responsible for managing the company's public image and strengthening relationships with communities and key stakeholders across its operating areas. This role leads community engagement, addresses public inquiries and concerns, supports ESG initiatives and consultations, and helps ensure the company's growth is reflected through positive, transparent, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead community, public and stakeholder engagement across all our sites

• Receive public concerns and queries, get them answered, and see them through to closure

• Speak for the company within approved limits, and advise management on our public position

• Help build company ESG plans, consultations and project engagement from the ground up

• Feed and quality-check content for our digital media, and support interviews and features. 

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Environmental Science, Social Science, or a related field is an advantage.

• Experience in public relations, communications, community relations, or stakeholder engagement.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports and confidently engage diverse audiences.

• Valid driver's license preferred; a company driver will be provided if required.

• Professional, respectful, and confident when engaging with the public, including during difficult conversations.

• Willing to work in the field across sites, yards, quarries, wharves, and surrounding communities.

• Highly organized, with strong record-keeping skills and the ability to follow through on tasks independently.
